From what age do proper shoes make sense?

As long as your child mainly crawls and pulls up indoors, it does not need firm shoes – barefoot or in booties the foot develops best. As soon as it walks outdoors, the foot needs protection from gravel, wet and cold.

Which size should I order?

Measure the sole while your child is standing and add about one centimetre of room. Children's feet grow in spurts, so measuring again every two to three months is worth more than buying a size ahead.

What does vegetable-tanned leather mean?

The leather is treated with plant-based tanning agents instead of chrome salts. It therefore stays chrome-free and biodegradable – and for sensitive children's skin it is the gentler option.

How do I care for the leather shoes?

Let dirt dry and brush it off instead of rubbing it while wet. Smooth leather appreciates occasional leather care, suede a brush. Never dry wet shoes on a radiator, or the leather becomes hard and brittle.
