Thermal clothing for babies + children in wool

Thermal clothing keeps children warm without bulk. Most of this category is wool: around three quarters of the pieces come from Engel, plus merino gilets and sheepskin booties from BINIBAMBA and individual styles from snug, Organic Zoo and Cozmo.

Three layers, three jobs

If you dress your child using the layering principle, you will find something here for every layer:

• Base layer next to the skin: long-sleeved baby bodysuit, long-sleeved baby top and baby leggings in merino wool + silk, and for older children the Kinder Longsleeve, children's leggings or the children's vest top.
• Warm mid-layer: wool fleece hooded jacket, merino fleece jumper, the zip-up merino wool hooded jacket or the Merino Weste, for example in Milk, Bruno or as the Merino Weste x Organic Zoo in Peanut.
• For babies in the pram: the wool fleece overall or zip overall with hood, and the wool fleece baby trousers with a high waistband that also covers the tummy.

In rain and mud, a weatherproof outer layer from our rainwear goes on top.

Hands, feet and head

Cold feet and hands quickly make children unhappy outdoors. Wool fleece baby booties, wool fleece baby mittens, the wool fleece baby bonnet and the sheepskin booties close these gaps.

Merino silk or wool fleece?

Merino wool + silk is fine and smooth and works well directly on the skin. Wool fleece is thicker and fluffier and keeps warm as a second layer. Both rarely need washing; airing is often enough.
