Collection: WOODEN FIGURES

Building little worlds: how wooden figures unfold their magic

In so-called small-world play, children create miniature worlds: a green cloth becomes a meadow, building blocks become a stable, and the wooden animals move in. In these self-invented scenes, children process what they've experienced, practise language while narrating and often sink into concentrated play for astonishingly long.

Sorting, counting, collecting

Quite incidentally, wooden figures are wonderful learning material too: they invite sorting by colours and sizes, counting and ordering. And because individual figures are affordable, they're perfect as little gifts – the collection grows with every birthday and advent calendar.

You'll find the matching backdrop under Wooden blocks and in the dolls' house.

Figure by figure, a world emerges: wooden figures are among the pieces that accompany children for years and are one day passed on, full of memories.
