Petit Nord children's shoes: boots, sandals + T-bars in leather

Petit Nord is a Danish brand that has been designing children's shoes since 1998. Most models are made of leather and the colours stay calm: cognac, chestnut and hazelnut, plus prints such as leopard and cheetah or floral details like Autumn Flower.

The range by season

For autumn and winter there are boots in many versions. The Classic Boot, Desert Boot and Mingus Boot are unlined, while the winter versions such as the Classic Winter Boot or Desert Winter Boot Velcro are lined. For spring and summer we stock sandals such as the Classic Sandal, Oscar Sandal and Bow Sandal, as well as the strapped T-bar models, for example T-Bar Scallop or T-Bar Flower. For the youngest there is the Baby Scallop T-Bar. The Everyday Shoe with laces or Velcro and the Low Sneaker work all year round.

What to look for when buying

Models marked "Velcro" have a hook-and-loop fastening, which makes it easier for children to get into their shoes on their own. "Scallop" refers to the wavy edge on the upper. Measure the length of the foot before ordering, ideally in the afternoon, and allow a little room, and for winter boots also room for thicker socks.

Care

Proof smooth leather now and then, brush suede and let wet shoes dry slowly at room temperature. That way the shoes often last longer than the size fits and can be handed down to a younger sibling.
