The newborn collection: basics for the first weeks

What belongs in the first wardrobe
In the NEWBORN collection we have gathered what is really needed in the first weeks – bodysuits, hats, blankets and a few things for going out. How many of each make sense is answered in the guide How many bodysuits does a newborn need?; the complete list is in the first baby kit checklist.
Why muted colours are practical
The collection holds back on colour – for a practical reason: when everything goes together, you need fewer pieces, and nothing has to be matched in the morning. In the first weeks in particular, with three changes of clothes a day, that counts.
Hair bows by FRICKZACK
The hair bows by FRICKZACK are softly made and do not press – important on a head that still has a soft fontanelle. They are a popular small gift for a birth.
Footmuffs for the pram
The Puffmuff footmuff by Binibamba comes in leopard and toast among others. In winter a footmuff is more practical than a blanket because it does not slip when the child kicks – and it simply opens up when you come into the warmth.
Hats in merino wool
Newborns lose a lot of warmth through the head – a hat therefore belongs from the start. The merino hat by Binibamba comes in bruno and milk. Merino wool warms without causing heat build-up; more on that in the guide merino wool or cotton.
As a gift
Pieces from the newborn collection work well as a gift for a birth – more ideas are in the post on sustainable gifts for a birth. Matching basics are also available from romi. the label.
