Why muted colours are practical
The collection holds back on colour – for a practical reason: when everything goes together, you need fewer pieces, and nothing has to be matched in the morning. In the first weeks in particular, with three changes of clothes a day, that counts.

Frequently asked questions
Which size for the first hat?
The merino hat covers 0 to 6 months and measures 19 cm at the opening. A first hat should sit close without pressing – if it slips over the eyes it is too big, and in a pram that is more of a nuisance than one slightly too snug.
Does a newborn need a hat indoors too?
As a rule, no. At normal room temperature a hat is unnecessary indoors and can even lead to overheating. Outdoors, on the other hand, it belongs, because a lot of warmth is lost through the comparatively large head.
Footmuff or blanket in the pram?
In winter, the footmuff: it does not slip when the child kicks, and it can be opened when you step into a shop instead of having to be removed entirely. A blanket stays more flexible, though, and can also serve as a mat.
How many pieces does the first kit really need?
