Care for newborn skin
Baby skin is thinner than an adult's and loses moisture more quickly. Less is therefore often more: in the first weeks, clear water and a few mild products are enough. Minois Paris works with organically certified ingredients and avoids unnecessary additives. The cleansing and care products are suitable from birth – individual specialist products such as the Magic Balm carry their own age guidance, more on that below.
Bubble Bath
The bubble bath with 500 ml contains organic honey and orange blossom water – the honey provides moisture, the orange blossom water soothes. Add a small amount to the bath water, mix well, rinse off after the bath. Possible daily and suitable from birth – though not necessary for small babies.
Washing gel for body and hair
The washing gel cleans body and hair in one step – practical when you are holding a slippery baby with one hand. It foams only lightly and leaves no tight feeling. For older children there is also a hydrating shampoo.
Dry Oil and Body Lotion
The dry oil absorbs without staying greasy – it works well for a short baby massage after the bath. If you prefer something creamy, reach for the body lotion or the gentle cream for the face. You will find all three under skincare + washing gels.
Magic Balm: only from three years
The Magic Balm in a 50 ml pot is the all-rounder for small everyday troubles – bruises, bumps, rough patches of skin. It contains organic arnica, immortelle and organic calendula and is applied locally with circular movements. Important: unlike the other products it is intended only from 3 years – so not one for the changing bag, but for the playground years. For the nappy area there is a fragrance-free diaper cream instead.
What you really need
To begin with, a mild washing gel and a cream or an oil are enough. Everything else follows over time, once you notice what your child needs. Which products are suitable from birth?
Bubble bath, washing gel, dry oil, body lotion and gentle cream. The Magic Balm is intended only from 3 years – with care products, always read the age guidance, even when a brand counts as baby-friendly overall.
How often should a baby be bathed?
Two or three times a week is plenty in the first months. Bathing more often dries out thin baby skin rather than helping it – in between, washing with clear water is enough.
Dry oil or body lotion – which is better?
Both nourish; the difference lies in the use. The oil suits a massage after the bath because it spreads well; the lotion is massaged in faster when the morning has to move along. For very dry skin the two can be combined.
What does «organically certified» mean here?
The active ingredients come from certified organic cultivation – organic honey and orange blossom water in the bubble bath, organic arnica and calendula in the balm. That says something about where the plant ingredients come from, not automatically about tolerance: natural ingredients can trigger allergies too, so with sensitive skin test on a small area first.
