What does UV400 mean – and is it enough?
UV400 means the lenses block radiation up to 400 nanometres, so UV-A and UV-B completely. That is the protection. Polarisation is something else: it reduces glare from reflections on water or snow but adds no protection. Dark glasses without a UV filter are worse than none, because the pupil widens.
From what age do the sunglasses fit?
Roughly 1.5 to 8 years. The temples measure 12.5 cm and the width 12.7 cm – calculated for small faces. Because the TR90 frame gives way instead of breaking, the glasses also survive being squashed in a rucksack.
Do the clips hold in very fine hair?
That is what they are made for: 5.5 cm long with a narrow clasp, they grip even thin strands where large clips find no hold. Two or three side by side hold more than one big one.
What should I look for in a headband?
Width and elasticity. A narrow, tight band presses behind the ears and gets pulled off before long – a wider one spreads the tension and stays put. And it should stretch enough to fit for more than one season.
