Stainless steel instead of plastic
The Arthur lunchbox is made from robust stainless steel with a flexible silicone lid. Stainless steel takes on neither odours nor discolouration – so last week's tomato sauce stain does not stay on as a memento. Even after years the box still looks tidy, which can rarely be said of plastic boxes.
Three compartments, around 900 ml
The three divided compartments together hold about 900 ml – enough for a sandwich, fruit and a snack without everything sliding into one another. At 5.5 cm high, 13.5 cm wide and 17 cm long, the box fits into any nursery backpack.
Made for small hands too
The flexible silicone lid is easy to open and close – even for nursery-age children. That sounds like a detail, but it decides whether the lunchbox actually gets opened at break time or comes home untouched.
Good to know: not leak-proof
The Arthur is deliberately not a sealed box: liquids can escape if it lies at an angle in the backpack. For sandwiches, vegetable sticks and dry snacks it is ideal – for yoghurt or soup it is not suitable. Care and alternatives

Frequently asked questions
Is the Arthur lunchbox leak-proof?
No. The silicone lid sits tightly enough that nothing falls out, but it does not seal. Anything that flows – yoghurt, soup, pickled vegetables – belongs in a different container.
Can the box go in the microwave?
No, stainless steel does not belong in a microwave. The Arthur can go in the dishwasher without any problem, lid included.
Is 900 ml enough for a schoolchild?
For a snack and a light lunch, yes. For older children with a big appetite it gets tight – in that case use the box for the snack and send the warm meal separately.
Stainless steel or Tritan – which suits better?
Stainless steel lasts longer, stays odour-neutral and survives years in a backpack. Tritan is lighter and cheaper, which can be decisive for nursery children with a small backpack. Both are dishwasher-safe.
