Sustainable toys by GRENNN

GRENNN relies on environmentally conscious materials: biodegradable plant-based plastic, partly blended with recycled wood sawdust, plus bamboo for the tweezers. The products are made for sand, rice and dough play – in other words, for what children love most anyway: scooping, shaping, pouring. If you appreciate natural materials, you will find an uncomplicated, washable addition for the sandpit and play table here.
Farm animal cutters for imaginative play
The cutters with farm animals – chicken, cow, horse, goat, sheep and pig – turn the sandpit or dough table into a little farm. Releasing the shapes, your child practises fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, while acting out farmyard scenes grows language and imagination along the way.
Butterfly cycle for natural learning
With the butterfly cycle set, your child shapes egg, caterpillar, chrysalis and butterfly themselves – grasping the course of metamorphosis literally with their hands. This kind of learning on concrete material is very much in the spirit of the Montessori approach.
Galaxy set for space adventures
Stars, planets and rockets: the Galaxy set brings outer space into the sandpit. Shaping the motifs, your child gets to know basic geometric forms and develops spatial imagination. It comes in a linen bag – which makes it a lovely gift idea too.
Wave bowls for sensory play
The Wave bowl set with six stackable bowls in pastel shades is the basis for calm sorting and pouring play: arranging colours, decanting chestnuts, picking up small things with the bamboo tweezers. Such sequences foster concentration and fine motor skills – and create pleasantly quiet moments in everyday play. Recommended from 3 years.
You will find the whole range in the GRENNN collection – more ideas in the collections sensory toys and wooden toys. How free play without instructions works is covered in our guide open-ended play.
